A story of great-grandparents James and Margaret in Astoria, New York – Lawrence Cemetery

I met with James and Margaret Sheehan on February 8, 2014 to do a photo journal about their lives. On May 29, 1949 at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in NYC twenty-year-old James and Margaret were wed. Margaret recalled, “The priest said it wouldn’t last.” Sixty-five years later they laugh about it. James was in search for a job and realized he had to join the service in order to make a living. I’m coming home – A massapequa’s family return to home after Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy ripped through long island on October 22 thru 31, 2012 destroying people’s homes and lives. Over a year later many families are still not home. My goal was to follow a family nearing the end of their story and do a journaling of their return to home. I will preface this with saying I am not a professional journalist, just a photographer who wanted to tell this families story with some background information to give the images some context. Steampunk Victorian Photographer

I was testing out a location and decided to reach out to the Long Island / New York Steampunk community to ask for individuals to come sit for me. I am hoping to have several of these done within the winter months all with me experimenting something new in each of them.
